Layer Cake

Today's fashion tip is about layering. It is all the rage and oh so cute! It takes a once dull and non-head turning top and basic pants/skirt to a whole new level. I like to think of it like a layered cake. The outside is just an old frosted cake. Ho hum. But when you cut into to it and you notice that every other layer is frosting and maybe even a little extra fruit or goodies...we have a whole new dynamic!

The boyfriend blazer is back. Here are my layering examples—just a few among many that S & D pieces offer. Worn with a nod to 80s power dressing, the blazer is a simple way to incorporate luxe fabrics and chic tailoring into any look. Wear in pinstripe flannel, tropical wool, tuxedo style cotton or plush velvet. I've shown what to layer that would make any blazer with any outfit look smashing.

This is our Crest Pendant, Chase necklace in silver and the Tatum Pearl necklace. The Crest Pendant can be worn on the 30" silver chain(sold separately). I love this look because it is classic, yet trendy and modern. So it speaks to the young, hip girl and the working or on-the-go busy woman. The blazer is a must have. I don't have any in my wardrobe yet and I am dashing out to get one ASAP. I LOVE them! This one is particularly one of my faves (comes in other colors too)because it can be worn to be very simple and casual or dressed up with nice slacks or a skirt or dress. I also LOVE the herringbone professor and the boyfriend too. Great looks with so many choices in tops, pants, shorts, crops and shirts. I just bought 4 long sleeve Ts at Target for $4.20(marked down from $6)!!! They would look fab with any one of these blazers. Here are other layering pieces that would look wonderful with any of these outfits/looks. First, the Olivia charms. So versatile and so cute!! Clip them on to almost anything of ours! Here I have it to clip on to the gold La Coco(the brooch would not be on it). Wear it layered with the Vintage textured chain and the single strand Sofia.
