Who says its trendy?

Have you ever wondered who set the latest fashion trends or chooses what’s in? Fashion has always been about trends and updates, so it is only natural to ask the question on who actually set the latest trend or keep the fashion world in motion.
Designers are the first agents of change, setting the overall direction of the fashion world in more ways than one. You can easily catch the latest trends by seeing runways and designers’ fashion shows. In fact, trends are usually started from runways indeed. Super massive and extravagant necklaces werein John Galliano, Marc Jacobs, Thakoon and Lanvin collection.
Media will pick designers’ ideas up and publish these ideas to wider mass. This is the turning point of whether the designers’ ideas will turn into a huge trend or just another fashion pieces that you can use as an alternative. Large fashion magazines such as Vogue or Elle play important roles in influencing the public’s point of view.
Next, we have celebrities with their up-to-date styles and fresh looks. Do you constantly seek information about what they are wearing? You are subconsciously shaping a trend. You'll still see pics of celebrities wearing many necklaces [layered], and they're often super heavy, chunky designs. Most of us in the real world will opt for a more subdued look, for practical reasons (cost, uncomfortable weight) and because we aren't providing billboard space for designers. But celebrities are usually on the cutting edge of style -- jewelry they're wearing today may be on retail racks in coming seasons. A couple of years back people were wearing printed tees just because several celebrities are making ‘statements’ using t-shirts; that’s a fashion trend on the making right there.
As you can see, there are different sources and factors that can influence the latest trends. What we all need to realize is that we, the customers, are the one actually deciding what’s in. A fashion trend can only be a trend if we all love the style and pieces that are part of the trend.
That is where Blythe Harris, our amazing designer comes in. She travels the globe, researches her target market trends, runway trends and also gets inspired at flea markets across the country and across the globe to get her cogs turning. Fall trends are already in place. Metals, textures and asymmetry will be huge this season.
